003: the power of positivity

“the power of positivity” — alliteration at it’s cliche’d best. But during my darkest times, instead of saying “this is going to suck” or “this is bad” I started to say “it’s going to be alright.” And it did become alright. Even if it took a while, I realized that worrying or feeling dread about something that had not even happened yet was not doing anything for me. In fact, it caused me needless anxiety and depression. Believing that everything is and was going to be okay helped me realize what was okay in my life–the countless blessings I had.

002: the best things in life come slowly.

Some may say that “when it rains it pours” or that “the best things in life come all at once.” When we see something great happening, but it hasn’t happened yet, we want it to come quickly towards us–we become so obsessive. But truly, the universe wants you to enjoy what is coming for you, so slower the process, the more you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits.

001.

Hi there. If you’re reading–thank you! This blog is meant to document my journey as a young attorney, striving to improve her mental wellbeing and positive outlook.

In the past year I have: (1) graduated with a law degree; (2) studied for the toughest exam of my life; (3) failed the toughest exam of my life, when all predictions were me passing; and (4) re-studied and succeeded. This journey has given me the opportunity to reflect on which memories to focus on in life and which ones to let go. I have learned a lot, and can’t wait to share all this on my blog. I hope you’ll join me.
